Research Requests enable Pharming to support independent investigators or trial sponsors to conduct research that helps further develop knowledge of our products or their associated indications, by providing access to pharmaceuticals, and/or in some cases access to appropriate support in funding. A number of different funding mechanisms available depending on type of research.

Third-party Pre-clinical Research
Pre-clinical research in vitro and in vivo is key to understanding complex mechanisms of action and interactions of treatment compounds and therapies.
Pharming funds its own pre-clinical research, but by supporting third-party pre-clinical research, aims to further promote knowledge and learning in ultra-rare diseases that may act as the foundation for further investigation into potentially life-changing work to come.
Investigator Initiated Studies
Investigator Initiated Studies (IIS) are third-party research projects undertaken by physicians or scientists with the aim to increase knowledge around the diagnosis, natural history and treatment of Pharming’s disease areas of interest.
Grants are awarded for trials deemed ethical, executed by third-party organizations, based on the scientific merit of the study alone with no further obligations of the investigator’s future relationship with Pharming. Pharming does not act as the sponsor and has no involvement in the design, selection of investigators or operation of such research, which are instead the responsibility of the sponsor, but may ask for progress updates based on agreed deliverables.
